Barclays Jersey Boat Show
Thousands of people recently flocked to the 11th annual Barclays Jersey Boat Show for what proved to be one of its most successful shows yet.
 
Blessed with glorious sunshine and high temperatures throughout the three-day show, it is estimated that in excess of 35,000 people visited St Helier Marina and Weighbridge Place to take advantage of the activities on offer. These included superyachts and watercraft on St Helier Marina pontoons, visiting Royal Navy vessels, quayside exhibitors offering a variety of marine leisure and lifestyle products, and catering franchises. A number of new activities were programmed in the Flybe Outdoor & Active Zone, including stand-up paddleboard racing, charity duck racing, trial bike demonstrations and the participation of a number of community and charity associations. For the first time in the boat show’s history, three members from Skydive Jersey parachuted into St Helier Harbour every afternoon.
 
Both landside exhibitors and St Helier Marina traders have reported ‘buoyant sales’ and the feedback and response from participants have been very positive, with many already expressing an interest in taking part again in 2019.
